Your chauffeur will meet you in the public arrivals hall at Geneva Airport, just after you come through the customs doors, holding a sign with your name. Because the driver tracks your flight, the timing adjusts automatically if you land early or late. This is the standard meet-and-greet service from AirportsTransfers.ch, and the steps below explain what to expect and what to do if anything goes differently.
- Meeting point: the Swiss arrivals hall, just beyond the customs exit
- How to recognise your driver: a name sign with the lead passenger's name
- Timing: based on your actual landing time thanks to flight tracking
- If you are held up: send a short message; waiting is included if your flight is late
- If you cannot see your driver: stay in the arrivals hall and call or message
What meet-and-greet means
Meet-and-greet simply means that your driver comes into the terminal to find you, rather than waiting in a car park or asking you to look for a vehicle outside. It removes the most stressful part of arriving in a new airport: working out where to go with heavy bags, tired children or a long day of travel behind you. Your chauffeur then walks with you to the vehicle, helps with the luggage and loads skis or pushchairs safely.
The meeting point in detail
After baggage reclaim and customs, the sliding doors open into the public arrivals hall. Meet-and-greet drivers stand along the barrier facing those doors, with signs or tablets showing passenger names. It can be busy, especially on winter Saturdays when many ski flights arrive together, so pause for a moment once you come through the doors and look along the line rather than heading straight for the exit.
The sign usually shows the name of the person who made the booking or the lead passenger named in the reservation. If someone else booked for you, such as an assistant or a travel organiser, check which name will appear. Corporate travellers sometimes prefer a company name on the board; mention it when booking if that suits you.
How flight tracking sets the timing
When you give your flight number, the driver follows its real arrival time rather than the scheduled one. If the aircraft lands early, the chauffeur is there earlier; if it is delayed, they adjust accordingly, and waiting caused by a late flight is included. The driver also allows a reasonable time for disembarking, passport control where applicable and baggage reclaim, so you are not rushed out of the terminal.
This is why it is so important to give the correct flight number. If you change flights, update your booking or send the new number as soon as possible.
For departures the process is reversed: the chauffeur collects you at your hotel, office or chalet at the agreed time and drops you at the departures level, close to the check-in area. If you need a hand with luggage up to the counters, simply ask. Business travellers sometimes combine both legs in one booking, which keeps the same contact details for the outbound and return journeys.
If you are held up inside the terminal
Sometimes the delay happens after landing: a long passport queue for non-Schengen arrivals, ski bags that take a long time to reach the oversized luggage point, or a missing suitcase that needs reporting. None of this is unusual. The best thing to do is send your driver a short message explaining the situation and an estimate of how long you might be. That way they know you are on the ground and on your way.
If you cannot see your driver
First, stay in the arrivals hall. Leaving the building to look outside makes meeting more difficult. Walk slowly along the barrier and check every sign, including tablets that may display your name in smaller letters. Next, call or message the contact number in your booking confirmation; the phone line and WhatsApp work around the clock. Tell the person where exactly you are standing, for example near a particular café or information desk, so the driver can come to you.
Also check that you exited on the side you booked. If you left by the French sector while your driver waits on the Swiss side, the two of you are in different parts of the airport, and a quick call will sort out the best solution.
Booking a meet-and-greet pick-up
Every airport collection booked online with AirportsTransfers.ch includes meet-and-greet with a name sign and flight tracking. The fixed price for the vehicle is shown before you pay by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay, so there is nothing to settle on arrival. Choose the vehicle to match your group, from a Mercedes E-Class or S-Class to a V-Class or Sprinter, add child seats on request and declare skis when booking. On the day, reach the team on +41 78 346 56 77 by phone or WhatsApp, 24 hours a day.
