Geneva Airport private ski transfers
A ski resort transfer with AirportsTransfers.ch is a private car or van that takes you, your family or your group from Geneva Airport to your chalet or hotel in the Alps, skis included. You book online, choose a vehicle large enough for your equipment and pay the fixed price per vehicle securely before travelling.

From the runway to the slopes
Your chauffeur waits for you in the arrivals hall at Geneva Airport with a name sign, helps load suitcases and ski bags, and drives you directly to the door of your accommodation. There is no shared shuttle, no stop at other hotels and no wait for other passengers. We follow your flight, so if it lands late the chauffeur adapts and the waiting is included.
On the way back, we collect you at your chalet or hotel at the time you choose and drop you at the departures level of the airport, with enough margin for check-in.
Skis, snowboards and winter driving
- Declare skis, snowboards and boot bags when you book so we assign a vehicle with enough room
- The Van (Mercedes V-Class) carries up to 7 passengers and 10 bags, with space for skis
- The Minibus (Mercedes Sprinter) is suited to larger groups and ski clubs
- Child seats and booster seats are available on request
- Vehicles are prepared for mountain roads in winter conditions
Popular ski resorts we drive to
In Switzerland, the most requested private ski transfer is Geneva to Verbier, followed by Crans-Montana, Zermatt (via Täsch, where cars stop and the shuttle train takes over), Saas-Fee, Villars-sur-Ollon, Gstaad, Champéry, Nendaz, Grimentz-Zinal and Les Diablerets. Further east we also reach Andermatt, Engelberg, Laax, Davos-Klosters and Saint-Moritz.
In France, we drive to Chamonix-Mont-Blanc, Megève, Les Gets, Morzine, Avoriaz, Flaine, La Clusaz and Samoëns, as well as the larger Tarentaise resorts: Courchevel, Méribel, Val Thorens, Les Arcs, La Plagne, Tignes and Val d'Isère. In Italy, Courmayeur, La Thuile, Breuil-Cervinia and Champoluc are reached through the Mont Blanc Tunnel or the Great St Bernard. In all, more than 180 ski resorts appear in our destination list.
Booking and paying online
Select your resort, the date and time, your flight number and the number of passengers and pieces of equipment. The fixed price for the whole vehicle appears before you pay. Payment is made online through a secure Stripe checkout by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay, and you receive a confirmation email at once. Booking a return trip at the same time saves you thinking about it at the end of your stay. For weekend peaks in high season, booking early gives you the widest choice of times and vehicles.
Saturdays in winter are the busiest days on the roads to the Alps, with chalet changeovers in most resorts. Your chauffeur knows the usual bottlenecks, such as the approach to the Mont Blanc Tunnel or the valley roads into the Tarentaise, and plans the pick-up time with this in mind. If you add your chalet's access details or the name of the concierge in the booking notes, the drop-off at the door is quicker, even in heavy snow. AirportsTransfers.ch operates 24/7; reach us on +41 78 346 56 77 by phone or WhatsApp.

Geneva Airport ski transfers: the complete guide to private transfers to the Alps
A private ski transfer from Geneva Airport takes you from the arrivals hall to the door of your chalet or hotel in Switzerland, France or Italy, with skis and snowboards loaded in the same vehicle. Most major resorts are between about 1 hour 15 minutes (Chamonix, Morzine) and 3 hours 15 minutes (Zermatt via Täsch) away. Prices start from CHF 275 per vehicle, not per person, and the fixed price is shown before you pay online.
How a private ski transfer from Geneva works, step by step
- Booking: choose your resort, date, flight number, number of passengers, bags and pieces of ski equipment. The fixed vehicle price appears before payment; confirmation arrives by e-mail at once.
- Flight tracking: your chauffeur follows your flight in real time. Waiting caused by a delayed flight is included in the price.
- Meet and greet: after baggage reclaim, your chauffeur is waiting in the arrivals hall with a name board and helps with suitcases and ski bags.
- The ride: a direct, private drive to the mountains, with no detours to drop other passengers and no fixed departure times.
- Drop-off: at the door of your chalet or hotel, or at the closest point allowed in car-free resorts, with help unloading.
Swiss sector or French sector at Geneva Airport?
Geneva Airport has a Swiss sector and a French sector. Most travellers use the Swiss side, but some guests heading to French resorts arrive in the French sector. Tell us which one when booking and your chauffeur meets you on the right side; if unsure, choose the Swiss sector and add a note.
Geneva to ski resort transfer times: the most requested resorts
The table above shows distance, driving time and "from" price for each featured route; here is how the main destinations compare.
Swiss ski resorts
Swiss resorts are reached along Lake Geneva and the Rhône valley motorway, with no border to cross. Verbier is about 2 hours away, via Martigny and the Val de Bagnes, with the last section climbing by hairpins from Le Châble. Gstaad takes around 2 hours through the Vaud Alps and the Pays-d'Enhaut. Crans-Montana is about 2 hours 15 minutes, with a climb up from Sierre to the sunny plateau. Saas-Fee is about 3 hours 10 minutes and Zermatt about 3 hours 15 minutes to Täsch, both via Visp. Villars-sur-Ollon, above the Rhône valley near Aigle, is a shorter drive than the Valais resorts; check the exact time in the table or in the booking form.
French ski resorts
The French Alps start just across the border. Chamonix is about 1 hour 15 minutes along the A40 "autoroute Blanche", Megève about 1 hour 10 minutes via Sallanches, Morzine about 1 hour 15 minutes and Avoriaz about 1 hour 30 minutes in the Portes du Soleil. The big Tarentaise resorts are further, reached via Annecy or Chambéry, Albertville and Moûtiers: Méribel about 2 hours 10 minutes, Courchevel about 2 hours 15 minutes, Val Thorens about 2 hours 30 minutes, Tignes about 2 hours 40 minutes and Val d'Isère about 2 hours 45 minutes in normal traffic.
Italian ski resorts
Courmayeur lies on the Italian side of Mont Blanc, reached through the Mont Blanc Tunnel from Chamonix. Breuil-Cervinia, below the Matterhorn and linked by ski to Zermatt, is reached via the Aosta Valley, through the Mont Blanc Tunnel or the Great St Bernard tunnel. Check the driving time in the booking form.
When to travel: Saturday changeover traffic and return to Geneva Airport
In high season, especially during school holidays from late December to early April, most chalets and apartments change guests on Saturday, and many on Sunday. The approach to the Tarentaise resorts via Albertville and Moûtiers is the most affected, and queues are also common on the A40 towards Chamonix and Morzine and, on busy weekends, at the Mont Blanc Tunnel. A transfer that takes two and a half hours on a Tuesday can take noticeably longer on a peak Saturday afternoon.
- Best landing times: on Saturdays, a landing in the morning or later in the evening usually avoids the worst traffic heading up to the resorts.
- How we plan the pick-up: for departures, we set the resort pick-up time according to the destination, the day and the weather forecast.
- Returning to Geneva Airport: plan to arrive at the airport about two hours before a European flight, and more for long-haul or if you have a lot of ski equipment to check in. Then add the driving time from the table above, and allow extra margin on a Saturday or when snow is forecast. For Val d'Isère, Tignes or Val Thorens on a peak Saturday, leaving early in the morning is usually the safest option.
Skis, snowboards, winter tyres and snow chains
Declare every pair of skis or snowboard, boot bags and other bulky items (such as a pushchair) when you book, so we assign a vehicle with enough space. A family of four with skis is usually best in a Mercedes V-Class rather than a saloon.
Winter driving rules in Switzerland, France and Italy
- France: under the "loi Montagne", vehicles must carry winter equipment from 1 November to 31 March in designated mountain areas, which include most of Haute-Savoie and Savoie. This means four winter tyres marked with the 3PMSF (mountain and snowflake) symbol, or chains or snow socks ready to fit. M+S tyres alone no longer qualify.
- Switzerland: winter tyres are not compulsory by law, but a vehicle must be fit for the road conditions, and chains become mandatory on roads where the chain sign is displayed.
- Italy: in the Aosta Valley, winter tyres or chains on board are generally required on mountain roads from mid-October to mid-April.
Our vehicles run on winter tyres in winter and our chauffeurs are used to snowy access roads, so none of this is your concern.
Where you are dropped: chalets, hotels and car-free resorts
- Zermatt: the village is car-free. We drive you to the Matterhorn Terminal in Täsch, where the shuttle train leaves every 20 minutes for the 12-minute ride to Zermatt. Luggage trolleys are available, and many hotels collect guests at Zermatt station with electric taxis.
- Saas-Fee: also car-free. We stop at the village entrance near the car parks; hotels can be called to pick you up by electric taxi, and handcarts are available for luggage.
- Avoriaz: a ski-in ski-out resort without cars. Luggage is unloaded at the resort entrance, and in winter horse-drawn sleighs and snowcats take you and your bags to your residence.
- Val Thorens: semi-pedestrian; vehicles may make a short stop in front of your residence to unload, so give us the exact address.
- Courchevel: the resort has several villages at different levels (1850, Moriond 1650, Village 1550, Le Praz 1300 and La Tania). State which one; a chalet "in Courchevel" can be in any of them.
- Chalets: many chalets are on steep, narrow private roads. Add the access details, any gate code and the phone number of your host or concierge in the booking notes; in heavy snow it saves time at the door.
Which vehicle for your ski transfer?
| Vehicle | Passengers | Luggage | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mercedes E-Class | up to 3 | 3 bags | Couples or small parties travelling light, ski hire in resort |
| Mercedes S-Class | 3 | 2 bags | VIP and business travellers, private jet arrivals |
| Mercedes V-Class | up to 7 | 10 bags, skis | Families with skis and snowboards, small groups |
| Mercedes Sprinter | up to 16 | Group luggage | Large groups, ski clubs, chalet parties, corporate trips |
Child seats and boosters are available on request; give the age of each child when booking. Since the price is per vehicle, a full V-Class or Sprinter often brings the cost per person close to that of shared options.
Private ski transfer vs train, shuttle bus, taxi or car hire
- Train: Swiss trains reach several resorts, but with skis you usually change at least once (for example in Martigny, Sion or Visp) and finish by bus, cable car or funicular. Fine when travelling light, hard work with ski bags.
- Shared shuttle: cheaper per seat, but you wait for other passengers, follow a fixed timetable and stop at several hotels before yours, which can add a lot of time on a Saturday.
- Car hire: flexible, but you drive tired after a flight, need suitable winter equipment (especially in France), pay for parking in resort and often cannot use the car at all in car-free villages.
- Taxi: a metered taxi has no price fixed in advance and may lack room for skis.
- Private transfer: door to door, one vehicle for your party only, skis included, a fixed price per vehicle known in advance, and a chauffeur who adapts to your flight.
Who books private ski transfers from Geneva?
Families get child seats fitted and no ski bags to carry on trains. Groups and ski clubs fill a V-Class or Sprinter and share one price. Business and VIP travellers, including private jet arrivals at the FBO, choose the S-Class. Chalet guests arriving at different times simply book separate transfers.
