Geneva Airport transfer
A Geneva Airport transfer with AirportsTransfers.ch is a private car with a chauffeur who meets you in the GVA arrivals hall and takes you straight to your hotel, home, office or resort. It suits business travellers, families and groups alike. You book Geneva airport transfer online, see the fixed price per vehicle before paying, and pay securely by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay.

How your airport transfer works
When you book, you give your flight number, the pick-up sector at Geneva Airport, your destination address and the number of passengers and bags. We follow your flight in real time. If the plane lands late, your chauffeur adjusts the pick-up time accordingly and the waiting is included, so you do not need to call us from the plane or the baggage hall.
Once you have collected your luggage and passed through customs, your chauffeur is waiting in the arrivals hall holding a sign with your name. They help with your cases and walk you to the vehicle parked nearby. For departures, the chauffeur collects you at the agreed time and drops you at the departures level of the terminal.
What is included in the price
- Meet and greet in the arrivals hall with a name sign
- Flight tracking and waiting time if your flight is late
- Help with luggage, including ski bags declared at booking
- Child seats and booster seats on request, at no hidden cost
- Tolls, fuel and the chauffeur's time for the journey booked
The price is calculated per vehicle, not per passenger. Two or seven people travelling together pay the same amount for the same car, so sharing a Van is often good value for families and colleagues.
If you travel with more luggage than usual, such as golf bags, a pram or several large suitcases, tell us at booking. We then suggest the vehicle class that fits, so you are not surprised on arrival by a car that is too small. Groups larger than seven people can book the Minibus (Mercedes Sprinter) or several vehicles arriving together.
Typical journeys from Geneva Airport
Many clients go into Geneva itself: hotels on the lakefront, the Palais des Nations and the international organisations, Palexpo for trade fairs, or Gare de Genève-Cornavin for an onward train. Others head along Lake Geneva to Nyon, Rolle, Morges, Lausanne, Vevey and Montreux. On the French side, we regularly drive to Ferney-Voltaire, Divonne-les-Bains, Annecy, Évian-les-Bains and Thonon-les-Bains. In winter, a large share of transfers go to ski resorts such as Verbier, Chamonix-Mont-Blanc, Megève, Crans-Montana, Courchevel and Val d'Isère. We also cover longer trips to Zurich, Bern, Lyon or Milan.
Book and pay online in a few minutes
Choose your route and vehicle on our booking form: Business Sedan (Mercedes E-Class), First Class Sedan (Mercedes S-Class), Van (Mercedes V-Class) or Minibus (Mercedes Sprinter). The fixed price appears before you pay and does not change afterwards. Payment is handled through a secure Stripe checkout by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay, and your confirmation arrives by email with all the details of your transfer. The service runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. For a last-minute arrival or a special request, call or message us on WhatsApp at +41 78 346 56 77. Companies can request an invoice for each ride.

Geneva Airport transfer: the complete guide to your private chauffeur from GVA
A private Geneva Airport transfer takes you from the arrivals hall at GVA straight to your hotel, home, office, chalet or another airport, in a car reserved for you alone, with a professional chauffeur and a fixed price per vehicle from CHF 123. Geneva city centre is about 15 minutes away, Lake Geneva towns and Annecy less than an hour, and the big ski resorts of Switzerland and France between one and three and a quarter hours.
How a private transfer from Geneva Airport works, step by step
- Book online. Choose your route and vehicle, enter your flight number and details, and see the fixed price before you pay by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. Your confirmation arrives by e-mail immediately. Online bookings are possible up to 12 hours before pick-up.
- Flight tracking. We follow your flight in real time. An early or late landing simply moves the pick-up; waiting caused by a late flight is included in the price.
- Meet and greet. After baggage reclaim and customs, your chauffeur is waiting in the arrivals hall with a name board, helps with the luggage and walks you to the car.
- The ride. Private, direct and door to door, with no other passengers and no detours.
- Drop-off. At your exact address, hotel entrance or chalet, or at the nearest point a vehicle may legally reach in car-free resorts.
Arrivals at Geneva Airport: Swiss sector or French sector?
Geneva Airport sits right on the border, and its terminal has two sides. Knowing which one you will use is the single most useful detail you can give us when booking.
Swiss sector (the usual case)
Almost all flights, from the UK, North America and most European cities, arrive in the Swiss sector of Terminal 1. You collect your bags, pass Swiss customs and come out into the main arrivals hall, where your chauffeur is waiting with your name. Skis, snowboards, golf bags and pushchairs are often delivered to a separate oversized-baggage counter, so allow a few extra minutes in winter.
French sector
Flights from French airports such as Paris or Nice can disembark in the French sector, which works like a domestic French terminal and opens onto French soil. Passengers on other flights can also reach it from the check-in level by following the "destination France" signs. A chauffeur can only reach the French sector by road through the Ferney-Voltaire customs post, so it must be specified at booking; picking up on the wrong side means a detour.
Terminal 2 in winter
In winter, a small separate Terminal 2 opens at weekends for some charter and seasonal flights, mainly ski traffic. It is about a 300-metre walk from Terminal 1. If your ticket or tour operator mentions T2, tell us when booking so your chauffeur waits in the right place.
Waiting time, delays and lost luggage
Because we track the flight number you give us, you do not need to message anyone from the aircraft. If your bags are missing and you have to file a report, or the passport queue is long, simply let us know by phone or WhatsApp on +41 78 346 56 77; the chauffeur stays with you.
Departures: transfers to Geneva Airport
The chauffeur collects you at the agreed time and drops you at the departures level. To plan the pick-up time, work backwards from your flight: airlines generally recommend arriving about 2 hours before a Schengen flight and earlier for long-haul flights, then add the driving time from the price table above. From a mountain resort, add a safety margin for snow, Saturday traffic and the descent from the village; on a winter Saturday we usually suggest leaving earlier than the normal drive time would suggest. You can book a departure on its own or add the return trip when you book your arrival.
Most requested destinations from Geneva Airport
Geneva city, the lake and nearby France
Geneva city centre is about 15 minutes away, with the lakefront hotels, the banks, the Palais des Nations and the international organisations all within easy reach. Along Lake Geneva, Lausanne is about 45 minutes and Montreux about 1 h 05, passing Nyon, Rolle and Morges on the way. Across the border, Annecy and its lake are about 40 minutes away.
Ski transfers from Geneva Airport: the big winter use
From December to April a large share of our transfers go to the Alps, and Geneva is the natural gateway to resorts in Switzerland and France. Approximate driving times in normal conditions:
- Haute-Savoie: Chamonix about 1 h 15, Megève about 1 h 10, Morzine about 1 h 15 and Avoriaz about 1 h 30.
- Tarentaise (Savoie): Méribel about 2 h 10, Courchevel about 2 h 15, Val Thorens about 2 h 30, Tignes about 2 h 40 and Val d'Isère about 2 h 45.
- Valais and Bernese Oberland: Verbier about 2 h, Gstaad about 2 h, Crans-Montana about 2 h 15, Saas-Fee about 3 h 10 and Zermatt (via Täsch) about 3 h 15.
Zermatt and Saas-Fee are car-free villages: for Zermatt, the drive ends at Täsch, where a shuttle train continues to the resort; in Saas-Fee, vehicles stop at the entrance to the village, where electric taxis and porters take over. Ski bags travel with you in the car, so declare skis and snowboards at booking.
Other airports and long distance
We also drive to other cities and airports, for example Zurich, Bern, Lyon or Milan.
Which vehicle should you choose?
| Vehicle | Passengers | Luggage | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mercedes E-Class | up to 3 | 3 bags | Business travellers, couples, city and lake transfers |
| Mercedes S-Class | up to 3 | 2 bags | VIP guests, executives, private jet arrivals |
| Mercedes V-Class | up to 7 | 10 bags, skis | Families, ski groups, lots of luggage |
| Mercedes Sprinter | up to 16 | group luggage | Groups, seminars, wedding guests, ski clubs |
Because the price is per vehicle, a family of five with skis usually pays less per person in one V-Class than in two sedans. When in doubt, choose the larger car.
Who uses a Geneva Airport private transfer?
- Families who want child seats installed, help with luggage and no transfers between trains and buses with tired children.
- Business travellers heading to meetings, the international organisations or Palexpo, with an invoice for each ride on request.
- Skiers and snowboarders who want to reach the chalet door on arrival day and start skiing the next morning.
- Groups travelling together in a Sprinter or in several vehicles arriving at the same time.
- VIP and private jet passengers, collected at the business aviation (FBO) terminal in an S-Class or V-Class.
Geneva airport taxi alternative: private transfer vs taxi, train, shuttle or hire car
Taxi: taxis wait outside the terminal and are convenient for a short ride into Geneva, but the fare depends on the meter and the traffic, and a long trip to a resort is rarely practical by taxi. A pre-booked transfer has a fixed price known in advance and a chauffeur waiting inside with your name.
Train: Genève-Aéroport station is directly linked to the terminal, and Geneva Cornavin is about 6 minutes away by train. Arriving passengers can take a free public transport ticket in the baggage hall, valid 80 minutes within the canton of Geneva. For a light traveller going to the city centre or along the lake, it is an excellent option. For the mountains, it usually means at least one change plus a bus or taxi at the end, with all your luggage.
Shared shuttle: cheaper per seat for a solo traveller, but you wait for other passengers and stop at several hotels or villages. A private transfer leaves when you are ready and goes straight to your address.
Hire car: gives freedom during the stay, but you handle snow chains, mountain roads, parking and fuel yourself. Swiss motorways require a vignette, and in French mountain areas winter equipment is compulsory from 1 November to 31 March. In car-free resorts the car sits in a car park all week.
Safety and winter driving
Our chauffeurs are professionals, and vehicles are fitted with winter tyres in winter. If heavy snow or a road closure affects your route, we adapt the itinerary or timing and keep you informed. Child seats and boosters are available on request and installed before you arrive.
Booking checklist
- Flight number and date (for flight tracking), and Swiss sector, French sector or Terminal 2

- Number of passengers, including children and their ages for child seats or boosters
- Number of suitcases, plus skis, snowboards, golf bags or a pushchair
- A mobile number reachable on arrival, ideally with WhatsApp
- Your return date and time if you want the departure transfer booked at the same time
