Geneva city centre
Travelling with children, grandparents or a large group raises practical questions long before the first suitcase is packed. Who sits where, which seats the children need, whether the vehicle is easy to get into and how many cars a big family really needs. This guide answers the questions families ask us most often about private transfers from Geneva Airport.
Is the van easy to get into for older people?
Every passenger is different, so the best approach is to tell us about any limited mobility when you book and describe what help is needed. The chauffeur takes care of all the luggage and can assist the passenger getting in and out of the vehicle, both at the airport and at your destination.
The Mercedes V-Class van offers space for up to 7 passengers, with a sliding side door and plenty of room to settle in. For one to three travellers, a Mercedes E-Class or S-Class sedan can also be chosen if a car suits the passenger better. Some people find one easier than the other, so if you are unsure which vehicle is most comfortable for your relative, contact us at contact@airportstransfers.ch or on +41 78 346 56 77 before booking and we will help you choose.
Are the child seats cleaned between uses?
Child seats and boosters are provided on request and fitted in the vehicle before you set off. To make sure you get the right seat, give each child's age when booking, and if possible their height or weight.
If you have particular expectations about the seat, for example regarding hygiene, a specific model or an infant carrier for a baby, write them in the booking notes or ask us before you travel at contact@airportstransfers.ch or on +41 78 346 56 77 by phone or WhatsApp. We will confirm the details for your transfer. You are of course also welcome to bring your own child seat if your child is used to it.
Can my grandmother sit in the front?
Adult passengers can ask for a particular seat. An older passenger may find the front seat easier to get into, or more comfortable on winding mountain roads where the view of the road ahead helps. Mention it in the booking notes and remind the chauffeur when you are met in the arrivals hall.
Please also tell us about any mobility needs in advance, such as a walking stick, a folding wheelchair to stow or the need for help with the door, so we can plan the right vehicle and enough space for the equipment. For any question, write to contact@airportstransfers.ch or call +41 78 346 56 77.
Do you have booster seats for a 7 year old?
Yes. Child seats and boosters are available on request. In Switzerland, children under 12 who are shorter than 150 cm must travel in a suitable child restraint, so a 7-year-old will normally need a booster. When you book, give the child's age, and ideally their height or weight, so the chauffeur brings the right booster and fits it before departure.
Several boosters can be provided for families with more than one child, and the Mercedes V-Class still leaves room for luggage and skis. If you forget to add a booster when booking, contact us by phone, WhatsApp or e-mail before your transfer and we will add it.
Can you transport a group of 15 people?
Yes. A Mercedes Sprinter carries up to 16 passengers, so a group of 15 can travel together in a single vehicle with one chauffeur. This is often the simplest option for a wedding party, a sports team, a company group or several families sharing a chalet.
When you book, give the exact number of passengers and describe the luggage, including skis, golf bags or bulky items, so we can check that everything fits. If your group carries a lot of equipment, we may suggest splitting into two vehicles, for example a Sprinter and a V-Class, or two V-Class vans travelling together. Each vehicle has its own fixed price, shown before you pay. For group requests or any doubt, write to contact@airportstransfers.ch.
Can someone meet my child travelling alone at Geneva Airport?
Please contact us before booking so we can discuss it. Write to contact@airportstransfers.ch or call or message +41 78 346 56 77 with:
- the child's age and flight details;
- the escort arrangements made with the airline;
- who will receive the child at the destination.
We will tell you clearly whether and how we can handle the pick-up. Airlines have their own rules for unaccompanied minors, including who may collect the child at arrival and which documents are required, so check those with your airline too before you finalise anything.
We are 2 families with 6 kids, do we need two cars?
With four adults and six children you are ten people, which is more than the 7 seats of a Mercedes V-Class. You have two simple options:
| Option | Passengers | Good to know |
|---|---|---|
| Two V-Class vans | Up to 7 each | Room for luggage and skis in both vans; each family can travel separately if you have different addresses. |
| One Sprinter minibus | Up to 16 | Everyone travels together with one chauffeur. |
Whatever you choose, request child seats and boosters at booking with each child's age. The fixed price per vehicle is shown before payment, so you can compare both options in the booking form.
Can a pregnant woman travel comfortably on the mountain road?
We cannot give medical advice, so please check with your doctor before a long drive, especially to resorts such as Verbier, about 2 hours from the airport, or Val Thorens, about 2 h 30, where the final climb is winding. Shorter trips such as Annecy, around 40 minutes, are of course easier.
On our side, you travel in a private Mercedes with a professional chauffeur, door to door, with no shared stops. Mention the pregnancy in the booking notes so the chauffeur is aware and can plan a calm drive, and choose a roomy vehicle such as the S-Class or V-Class. If you need a break during the journey, simply tell the chauffeur.
How to book
Enter your pick-up point, destination, date and the number of passengers in the online booking form, then choose your vehicle, from the E-Class sedan to the V-Class van or a Sprinter for large groups. The fixed price per vehicle is shown instantly, before payment. Add child seats with each child's age, skis and any notes about older passengers. On arrival, your chauffeur meets you in the arrivals hall with a name board and helps with the luggage.
