Geneva Airport is the gateway to dozens of ski resorts in Switzerland, France and Italy, and a private transfer takes you from the arrivals hall to your chalet door without changes or shared shuttles. Before the season, travellers ask us the same practical questions: how far each resort is, how car-free villages work, whether we drive between resorts and when to book. Here are the answers.

Which ski resorts are closest to Geneva Airport?

The nearest major resorts are in the French Alps, just across the border. Megève is about 1 h 10 by road, Chamonix and Morzine about 1 h 15, and Avoriaz and Courmayeur, on the Italian side of Mont Blanc, about 1 h 30. In Switzerland, Verbier and Gstaad are each around 2 h away, and Crans-Montana about 2 h 15. These are times in normal traffic: snow, and above all winter Saturdays, can add a good deal to them. For a short break or a late-evening arrival, the resorts under 1 h 30 are the easiest to reach on the same day.

How long does it take to reach the French Alps resorts from Geneva?

The French resorts fall into two groups: the Mont Blanc and Portes du Soleil areas, close to Geneva, and the large Tarentaise resorts further south. Approximate drive times from Geneva Airport are:

ResortApproximate drive time
Megève1 h 10
Chamonix1 h 15
Morzine1 h 15
Avoriaz1 h 30
Méribel2 h 10
Courchevel2 h 15
Val Thorens2 h 30
Tignes2 h 40
Val d'Isère2 h 45

The French sector of Geneva Airport can be convenient for these resorts; meet and greet there is available on request, so mention it when booking.

How do I get to a car-free ski resort from Geneva?

We drive you as close as cars are allowed, then local transport covers the last stretch:

  • Zermatt: the chauffeur takes you to Täsch, about 3 h 15 from Geneva, where the shuttle train runs into the car-free village.
  • Saas-Fee: about 3 h 10 from Geneva; you are dropped at the car park at the village entrance, where electric taxis and luggage services take over.
  • Avoriaz: about 1 h 30 from Geneva; you are dropped at the resort entrance, where horse-drawn sleighs or snowcat vehicles carry guests to their accommodation and luggage sledges are available.

Tell us your accommodation when booking so we can plan the right drop-off point, and pack soft bags where you can, as wheels do not work well on snow.

Do you transfer to ski resorts in Italy from Geneva?

Yes. Courmayeur, at the foot of Mont Blanc in the Aosta Valley, is about 1 h 30 from Geneva Airport via the Mont Blanc Tunnel, and we drive door to door to your hotel or chalet there. Other Italian resorts can also be booked: enter the address in the booking form and the fixed price per vehicle for that route is shown instantly. Remember that you cross national borders, so every passenger should carry a valid passport or identity card, and declare your skis at booking so the vehicle is ready for them.

Do you do transfers between two ski resorts?

Yes. Our service is door to door, so we can drive you from one resort to another during your holiday, for example from a Swiss resort to a French one, as part of a ski safari or to change accommodation mid-week. Popular combinations include Verbier and Zermatt in Valais, or Chamonix and Courmayeur on either side of Mont Blanc. Enter both addresses in the booking form to see the fixed price per vehicle before you pay. Declare skis and luggage so the right vehicle is sent, and book at least 12 hours ahead online, or call or WhatsApp +41 78 346 56 77 for a later request.

Can you pick us up from our chalet for the return to Geneva?

Yes. Book a transfer from your chalet address to Geneva Airport, or add the return when you book your arrival. Give the exact address, access details such as a private road or the chalet name, and your flight time; the chauffeur collects you at the door of your chalet and loads skis and bags. Plan your pick-up time generously: allow for the drive, for example around 2 h 15 from Courchevel, plus extra time on busy winter Saturdays, check-in and security.

Can I book a day trip to a ski resort from Geneva with a driver?

Yes, in two ways. You can book a chauffeur by the hour, from a minimum of 2 hours: the chauffeur drives you to the resort and back to Geneva on the same day, and you add your plans in the booking notes. Alternatively, book two separate transfers, one in the morning and one in the evening. Nearby resorts work best for a day trip, for example Megève at around 1 h 10 or Chamonix at around 1 h 15. Declare skis at booking, and choose the Mercedes V-Class for up to 7 people with equipment.

When do ski season transfers get fully booked?

Winter weekends fill up first, especially Saturdays during Christmas, New Year and the February school holidays, when many chalets change guests on the same day. Book as soon as your flights are confirmed, ideally with your return at the same time. Online booking stays open until 12 hours before pick-up, with an instant e-mail confirmation. For a last-minute request, call or send a WhatsApp message to +41 78 346 56 77 and we will check what is still available.

How to book

Enter Geneva Airport and your resort address in the online booking form and the fixed price per vehicle appears instantly, before payment. Choose your vehicle, declare skis, snowboards and child seats, and pay by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. We track your flight, and your chauffeur meets you with a name board in the arrivals hall, then drives you to your door on winter tyres.

Frequently asked questions

Which vehicle should we book for a family with skis?
For up to 7 passengers with skis, choose the Mercedes V-Class, which takes 10 bags as well as ski equipment. A Mercedes E-Class suits up to 3 passengers with 3 bags, and larger groups can book a Sprinter for up to 16 people. Declare the number of skis and snowboards at booking so the right space is planned.
Are your vehicles equipped for snowy mountain roads?
Yes. Our vehicles run on winter tyres during the season, and chauffeurs drive the Alpine routes regularly. Conditions can still slow the journey on heavy snow days, so build some margin into your plans, especially for a departure flight, and give the exact address of your chalet so the chauffeur can plan the final access road.
Can you pick us up at the private jet terminal for a ski trip?
Yes. We pick up from the private jet terminals at Geneva Airport as well as from the main arrivals hall. Give the name of the handling agent or terminal and your tail number or flight details when booking, along with your passenger count and ski equipment, and the chauffeur will be waiting when you are ready to leave.
Do you provide child seats on ski transfers?
Yes, child seats and boosters are available on request. Indicate the number and age of the children when you book so the right seats are fitted before pick-up. Children count as passengers, which matters when choosing between an E-Class and a V-Class, especially once ski equipment for the whole family is added.
