Geneva city centre
Every private transfer from Geneva Airport is sold at a fixed price per vehicle, shown in the booking form before you pay. This guide answers the cost questions travellers ask us most often: why a private car costs what it does, how groups can lower the price per person, and how night rides, the French border, currency, VAT, tips and hourly bookings are handled.
Why does a private transfer from Geneva cost more than public transport?
A private transfer reserves a whole vehicle and a professional chauffeur for your party alone. Nobody else joins the ride, there is no detour to drop other passengers, and the car takes you from the arrivals hall to the door of your hotel, chalet or office, 24 hours a day.
The price also covers several services that you do not see on a bus or train ticket:
- Flight tracking, so the chauffeur knows when you actually land.
- Meet and greet with a name board in the arrivals hall (Swiss sector; French sector on request).
- Waiting caused by a late flight, included in the price.
- A Mercedes vehicle with winter tyres in season, and space for your luggage and declared skis.
Because the amount is per vehicle and not per person, the cost per traveller falls quickly when a family or a group of colleagues shares the car.
What is the cheapest way to book a private transfer at Geneva Airport?
The most economical choice is simply the right vehicle for your group. Two people with three suitcases do not need a van, and a family of six should not book two sedans. As a guide:
| Vehicle | Passengers | Luggage | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mercedes E-Class | up to 3 | 3 bags | Couples, solo travellers, business trips |
| Mercedes S-Class | up to 3 | 2 bags | VIP comfort |
| Mercedes V-Class | up to 7 | 10 bags, skis | Families, ski groups |
| Mercedes Sprinter | up to 16 | Group luggage | Larger groups |
Enter your route in the booking form and the fixed price appears instantly. There is no meter running in traffic, and the ride is always private, never shared with strangers. Booking a return transfer at the same time also saves you a second booking step later.
How much does a private transfer cost per person for a group of 8?
Since prices are set per vehicle, the cost per person depends only on how you divide the total. The point to watch with eight travellers is capacity: one Mercedes V-Class carries up to 7 passengers, so a group of 8 needs either a V-Class plus a sedan, or a Mercedes Sprinter minibus, which seats up to 16 people. Enter your route to compare the fixed prices, then divide by eight. If you travel with a lot of luggage or ski equipment, mention it at booking or contact us for a Sprinter quote.
Do you charge extra for night transfers?
We operate 24/7, so early-morning departures and late-night arrivals are part of the normal service. You do not have to work out any surcharge yourself: enter your date and pick-up time in the booking form and the fixed price per vehicle for that exact journey is displayed before you pay. What you see is what you pay. For a night arrival, add your flight number so we can track the flight and the chauffeur waits for you in the arrivals hall, even if you land later than planned.
Is crossing the French border charged extra?
No separate border fee is added. The fixed price is calculated for your whole route, including any section driven in France, and is shown before payment. Just enter the exact destination address, whether you are going to Annecy (about 40 minutes), Chamonix (about 1 h 15) or Megève (about 1 h 10), so the price matches the real journey. Remember to carry your passport or identity card, as you are crossing an international border.
Are prices shown in Swiss francs or euros?
The fixed price for your vehicle is displayed in the booking form together with its currency, before you pay, so you know the exact amount that will be charged. Payment is made online through a secure Stripe checkout, by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. If you need the amount in another currency for an expense report, ask us at contact@airportstransfers.ch.
Is VAT included in the transfer price?
The fixed price per vehicle shown before payment is the total amount you pay for the transfer, with no extra line added at the end. If you need tax details for accounting, for example after a business trip, enter your company details when booking: we issue invoices for companies. For any specific question about how VAT appears on your invoice, contact us by e-mail at contact@airportstransfers.ch or by phone or WhatsApp on +41 78 346 56 77 and we will confirm it.
Is the tip included in the price?
No. Tips are not added to the online price. What you pay at booking is the fixed price per vehicle for your private transfer with a professional chauffeur, confirmed instantly by e-mail. Whether you leave a tip, and how much, is entirely your decision; it is never expected as a condition of the service.
Can I give the chauffeur a tip by card?
The online payment covers only the fixed transfer price, so a tip cannot be added to it later. Whether a tip can be given to the chauffeur by card on the day is not something we can confirm in general. If you would like to thank your chauffeur and do not carry cash, ask us beforehand by phone or WhatsApp on +41 78 346 56 77 or by e-mail at contact@airportstransfers.ch, and we will tell you what is possible.
How much does a private chauffeur in Geneva cost per hour?

The car and chauffeur stay at your disposal for the whole booked period, whether driving or waiting for you. Choose the vehicle (E-Class, S-Class, V-Class or Sprinter for groups) and the number of hours in the booking form, and the fixed price is shown instantly before payment.
