Meiringen-Hasliberg

Meiringen, in the Haslital east of Lake Brienz, is known for the Reichenbach Falls of Sherlock Holmes fame, the Aare Gorge and as the place often credited with the meringue. Above it, the Hasliberg terraces offer a family ski area. A private chauffeur from Geneva Airport saves the train changes in Bern and Interlaken and brings you to the door.

Chauffeur's tipHasliberg's villages sit on a terrace above Meiringen; give your exact village, such as Reuti or Wasserwendi, so the chauffeur takes the right road up.

The route from Geneva to Meiringen

Your chauffeur follows the A1 motorway via Lausanne, Fribourg and Bern, then the A6 to Thun and the A8 along the southern shore of Lake Thun to Interlaken. The road continues beside Lake Brienz, with views across the turquoise water, to Brienz and then into the Haslital to Meiringen. In total about 243 km and around two hours forty minutes, on motorway for most of the way. In winter this route is kept clear and is generally free of mountain passes until the final climb.

Arriving in Meiringen and Hasliberg

Meiringen is a compact town at the valley floor, with the station and the lift to Reuti for the Meiringen-Hasliberg ski area. The Hasliberg villages, Reuti, Goldern, Wasserwendi and Hohfluh, are reached by a winding road up from the valley or from the Brünig Pass, and the car can take you right to your hotel or chalet there. In summer the Reichenbach Falls funicular and the Aare Gorge are just outside the town.
