La Rosière

La Rosière is a sunny, south-facing resort in the upper Tarentaise, linked on skis to La Thuile in Italy through the Espace San Bernardo. Families and groups choose it for its relaxed feel and cross-border skiing. It is a long way from Geneva, so a private car with one driver all the way is much easier than a train to Bourg-Saint-Maurice and a bus up the hill.

Chauffeur's tipThe last climb from Séez has many hairpins: if anyone is prone to car sickness, mention it and your chauffeur will drive the bends extra smoothly.

The route from Geneva Airport to La Rosière

Your chauffeur crosses into France and follows the A41 past Annecy and Chambéry, then the A43 and A430 to Albertville. The N90 continues up the Tarentaise valley past Moûtiers to Bourg-Saint-Maurice. From there the road climbs through Séez towards the Little St Bernard Pass, and La Rosière sits on its upper bends. Beyond the resort the pass road is closed in winter.

Arriving in La Rosière

The resort is spread along the road in several sectors, with chalets and residences above and below the main lifts. Your driver takes you to the door of your accommodation whenever access allows, or to the closest point when a lane is snowy or private. From La Rosière you can ski over the border to La Thuile in the Aosta Valley, so there is no need to drive into Italy during your stay.

Practical advice for your transfer

This is one of our longer Alpine transfers, so we recommend booking well ahead for high-season Saturdays, when traffic on the N90 and around Bourg-Saint-Maurice is at its heaviest. Declare skis at booking: the Mercedes V-Class van takes up to seven passengers with ten bags and skis, while larger groups can travel in a Sprinter minibus. AirportsTransfers.ch includes flight tracking and waiting time, and your return pick-up is planned to leave ample margin for check-in at Geneva.
