Chauffeur's tipYour chauffeur stops at the Matterhorn Terminal drop-off, where luggage trolleys are available. Keep your hotel's details handy for an electric taxi in Zermatt.

The route from Geneva Airport to Täsch

Your chauffeur takes the A1 to Lausanne and the A9 past Montreux into the Rhône valley, then continues through Martigny, Sion and Sierre to Visp. There the road leaves the main valley and climbs the Mattertal through Stalden and St. Niklaus, a narrow mountain valley with steep sides, to reach Täsch. The 231 km take around two hours and thirty-five minutes; in winter, the valley road can be snowy and vehicles are prepared accordingly.

Arriving: the Matterhorn Terminal and Zermatt

Zermatt itself is closed to ordinary cars, so private transfers end in Täsch. Your chauffeur drops you at the Matterhorn Terminal Täsch, the station building with parking and a covered drop-off area. From there the shuttle train runs to Zermatt station in a few minutes. In Zermatt, small electric taxis and hotel shuttles take guests and luggage to their accommodation, so there is no need to carry bags through the village.

  • Your flight is tracked, and waiting time is included if it lands late.
