Chauffeur's tipAlta Badia village names appear in Ladin, Italian and German; give us your hotel's full address so the chauffeur goes straight to Corvara and not a neighbouring hamlet.

From Geneva to Alta Badia

The chauffeur leaves Geneva and crosses into Italy via the Simplon or the Aosta Valley, then follows the motorway past Milan and on the A4 to Verona. From there the Brenner motorway (A22) leads north through the Adige valley, past Trento and Bolzano. Corvara can be reached either by leaving the motorway near Bressanone (Brixen) and driving through the Val Pusteria and up the Val Badia, or via the Val Gardena and over the Gardena pass. The driver chooses according to weather and traffic. The route crosses the Swiss-Italian border.

Arriving in Corvara

Corvara sits beneath the Sassongher peak, at the junction of the Campolongo and Gardena pass roads. Hotels are spread around the village and along the roads leading out of it, and most are reachable by car right to the entrance. The Boè gondola, starting in the village, gives access to the Sella Ronda, and the slopes connect with La Villa, San Cassiano and Colfosco.

The route to Corvara in Badia10
How far is Corvara in Badia from Geneva Airport?
Corvara in Badia is about 658 km by road from Geneva Airport. It is a long transfer that crosses northern Italy and climbs into the Dolomites, so it is really a full day of travel in a private car with regular breaks.
How long is the drive from Geneva Airport to Corvara?
The drive from Geneva Airport to Corvara takes around 7 hours without stops. With a meal break and a coffee stop, most passengers arrive about eight hours after leaving the arrivals hall, depending on traffic around Milan and on the Brenner motorway.
Which route does the chauffeur take from Geneva to Corvara in Badia?
The chauffeur enters Italy via the Simplon or the Aosta Valley, passes Milan, follows the A4 to Verona and then the Brenner motorway (A22) north past Trento and Bolzano. The last section climbs either up the Val Badia from the Val Pusteria or over the Gardena pass.
Do you cross a border on the way to Corvara in Badia?
Yes, the transfer to Corvara crosses the Swiss-Italian border, either at the Simplon or via the Great St Bernard tunnel and the Aosta Valley. Carry a valid passport or identity card, and check your own visa requirements for Switzerland and Italy before travelling.
Which is the easier final approach to Corvara: Val Badia or the Gardena pass?
The Val Badia approach from Bressanone and the Val Pusteria avoids high passes and is usually preferred in winter. The Gardena pass route via Val Gardena is shorter on the map but more exposed to snow, so the chauffeur decides on the day according to weather and traffic.
Are snow chains needed to drive to Corvara in winter?
Our vehicles are fitted with winter tyres and carry chains in the season, as Italian mountain roads require. The motorway section is rarely affected, but the valley roads and passes around Corvara can be snowy, so the chauffeur allows extra time after heavy snowfall.
What is the traffic like on Saturdays between Geneva and Corvara?
Saturday is changeover day in Alta Badia, and the Brenner motorway and Val Badia road can be busy in the afternoon. Around Milan, weekday rush hours also slow things down. An early departure from Geneva Airport usually gives the smoothest journey to Corvara.
Can we stop for lunch on the way to Corvara in Badia?
Yes, on a seven-hour transfer to Corvara a lunch stop is recommended. Motorway service areas around Milan, Lake Garda or the Adige valley make natural breaks, and your chauffeur can also pause for photos or a short walk when it is safe to do so.
I land in Geneva in the evening: can I still travel to Corvara the same night?
Yes, AirportsTransfers.ch runs transfers around the clock, so a late landing is no obstacle. You would reach Corvara after midnight, so let your hotel know about the late arrival. Many travellers prefer a morning flight to arrive in Alta Badia before dark.
Is there an alternative route to Corvara if the Brenner motorway is congested?
If the A22 is badly congested, the chauffeur can leave the motorway earlier or use the Val Gardena approach instead of the Val Pusteria. In winter, though, the safer valley roads are favoured over passes, and the driver always adapts to live traffic and road conditions.

For the Christmas holidays, February half-term and Saturdays in high season, booking a few weeks ahead is wise, especially for a van with skis. For other dates, a transfer to Corvara can often be booked at shorter notice, subject to availability.
Can I book my return from Corvara to Geneva Airport at the same time?

What if my flight is delayed before my Corvara transfer?
Waiting time is included if your flight is late, so you do not pay extra. The chauffeur adjusts to the new arrival time and you still travel to Corvara, though a late landing means arriving in Alta Badia later in the evening.

Your confirmation includes our 24/7 phone and WhatsApp number, +41 78 346 56 77. If you cannot find the chauffeur in the arrivals hall or need to pass on a message during the drive to Corvara, simply call or send a message.
What time should I leave Corvara to catch a flight from Geneva?
Plan to leave Corvara around 9 to 10 hours before your flight from Geneva: about seven hours of driving, breaks, a margin for traffic around Milan or snow in the valley, and time for check-in. For a morning flight, an overnight stop on the way may be more comfortable.
Luggage, skis and children6
Can I take my skis in the car to Corvara in Badia?
Yes, skis and snowboards travel with you to Corvara, but please declare them at booking. This lets us choose a vehicle with enough space, usually a Mercedes V-Class van for families or groups with Sella Ronda ski gear.
Which vehicle should I choose for a transfer to Corvara?
For up to 3 passengers with 3 bags, the Business Sedan E-Class works well, and the First Class S-Class adds comfort for the seven-hour drive. Families heading to Alta Badia often choose the V-Class van, which takes up to 7 people and 10 bags.
Are child seats available for the trip to Corvara?
Yes, child seats and booster seats are available on request. Indicate the age of each child when booking your Corvara transfer, so the right seats are installed before the chauffeur meets you at Geneva Airport.
Can I bring my dog on a transfer to Corvara in Badia?
Pets can often travel, but please ask at booking so we can confirm and plan the vehicle. On such a long route to Corvara, the chauffeur will also allow short breaks so your dog can stretch its legs.
Is the transfer to Corvara suitable for passengers with reduced mobility?
Yes, please ask at booking and tell us about any wheelchair, walker or specific needs. The chauffeur helps with boarding and luggage, and most hotels in Corvara can be reached by car right to the entrance.
Can I bring a bike or other bulky luggage to Corvara?
